@40Tech On hold for too many reasons, I haven't updated out of a non-subscription version yet. Very curious how it "breaks" if you stop paying subscription. If only syncing stops, fine. However, if it pops a warning every time using or some other nag, that would end my relationship witih them immediately.

Passwords change and until we no longer need passwords on the Internet, I see a viable reason for 1Password subscription.

@jack Maybe settings more affecting local view than surgically removing from feed. More a local filter than a cutting.

@jack Option: "Show me no more of these" button when the clutter gets too high, specific to type of media, pictures, sounds, emoji, etc. Timeline preferences.

Comparing today to six months ago, definitely significant!

@hjertnes Right. Bugfix similar to faulty starter on a car, needing recall or just next service visit - no need to get the latest car make just for a bad manufacturing detail of a starter. Good with three - five years out end of support too. Though, any in-scope bug reports should go in repair prior to end of life.

@hjertnes Yes, generally because version 3 looks like a kindergarten mess some designer thought looked cleaner in spite of function -- just a hypothetical example. Or pop-ups in place of on-form edits (real world iOS Due 1 to Due 2 - sickening).

@mistercharlie I don't know about downsides, but using micro.blog helps mitigate Tumblr shutting down. You'll have to get a new host site, or use micro.blog hosting thereafter in any case.

@hjertnes Since subscriptions no longer depend on versions, I would like to see more version support too.

Weird about TextExpander, it seems perfect for discrete payments per version. I rarly use devices the same way -- why I have more than once device -- so syncing snippets helps about as often.

@mistercharlie Ah, ScanNER Pro.

(frustrated that) I keep seeing it doing the OCR before I get a chance to make the image black and white, yet it looks like all the conversions take place upon taking the picture / during import because of the instant shift during editing. So, it probably does do OCR on the best text recognizable version of each image.
